LawnLandscaper asked:
I am looking into purchasing a piece of land at a county tax auction… What I want to do is build a pole barn for my landscaping business.
My question is… the properties are listed on the county’s website as something like 2.5 acres, 1 acre primary, 1.5 acres residual. What does that mean?

It is my understanding that primary acreage is buildable, residual acreage you cannot build. Your next question would be why cannot I not build on 1.5 acres of the 2.5 acre land? Is it because the terrain won’t allow it (rivers, streams, etc.) or are there restrictions (wildlife protection) that won’t allow it?
